Number

The puzzles in this section involve mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, sequences and number systems. Many are good for helping students practise mental arithmetic and for encouraging them to develop their own shortcuts to use when working with numbers. Often, once the puzzle has been solved for a specific case, a natural extension is to introduce algebra to find a general solution.
