Help for looked-after children services

Ensuring high-quality provision for looked-after children is a continuing problem for local authorities, with budget cuts creating new obstacles to effective services for some of the UK’s most disadvantaged children. Fears have recently escalated following research findings that the rich-poor divide is growing ever wider, with looked-after children falling into the lowest categories of school achievers.

Pearson Publishing’s Educate can help virtual schools to optimise the efficiency of their additional support for looked-after children, use funds appropriately and free up time for face-to-face support for these often particularly vulnerable children. Educate allows resources to be allocated to individual children to facilitate personalised learning, with children working on their own or with adult support. Costs can be from as little as £15 per child, per year.
