Using InContexT: SEN for the first time
If you are using InContexT: SEN for the first time, then begin by clicking on About, highlighted in the menu bar above. This will take you to a page with an introduction to InContexT: SEN.
The menu bar will highlight whichever section you are currently in. To go to the front page of that section, click on the highlighted button. You can return to this screen at any time by clicking on INSET materials at the top right of any screen.
You can return to the front page of the disc by clicking on InContexT: SEN at the top left of the screen.
This is not a 'show and tell' multimedia CD-ROM; it is a convenient, cross-platform delivery mechanism for the training material.
InContexT: SEN contains training/self-study material for you to learn how to use ICT with pupils with special educational needs. Within InContexT: SEN you can:
- Click on About for an introduction to InContexT: SEN.
- Click on Materials to access the training material.
- Click on Help for help on using the PDF files and other issues.
To open a document, you need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. If you do not, then run Acrobat Reader Installer.exe from the top level of the CD-ROM. The installer for Macintosh computers is located in the Extras folder.
Note: Within InContexT: SEN, the term 'ICT' is used to cover ICT/ILT, ie all information and communication technology that may be used to support teaching and learning. In addition, the term 'pupil' may be used to mean any age of pupil or student, from early years to post-16 and adult.
