Meeting training needsIn order to ensure that staff can assist in making the strategic ICT vision of the school a reality, a comprehensive training and development programme will have to be developed and embarked upon. Training in this arena is likely to span the spectrum, from those who have no or very little skill, to those who are expert users. So both basic skills training and continuing professional development training – to enable everyone to integrate their skills and knowledge into their work to an appropriate degree – will need to be provided for in the training and development activities agreed. This section covers the ways in which training needs in general can be identified. Guidance on recording training needs data and identifying ICT-specific training needs is also presented.
