This programme provides a way of identifying why children were not making progress, identifying their barriers to learning, so we can address them and help them to overcome them.

Linden Grove Primary School
Just 14% of variation in individuals’ performance is accounted for by school quality. Most variation is explained by other factors, underlining the need to look at a range of children’s experiences and well-being, inside and outside of school, when seeking to raise achievement.

Understand more about your pupils’
Readiness for Learning

Pupil Perceptions is a simple tool that can help you to:

Readiness for Learning

Readiness for Learning (RfL) is a single score calculated from the responses of each child, providing an overall indication of their well-being and likely preparedness for academic progress. RfL is designed to give you a quick way to identify pupils who may require intervention, and provide a convenient single figure that can be set against data on attendance, attainment, background and other issues.

Target support where it is needed

Using individual pupils’ RfL Scores, RfL Indices can then be calculated for a wide selection of groups, and combinations of groups. This allows you to look at possible links between RfL and, for example:

By comparing the RfL Indices of different groups of pupils, schools can build up a detailed picture of vulnerable groups, the problems that they face and how targeted interventions could help.

To get a detailed picture of what is possible, see the sample spreadsheets on the Pricing and samples page.
