It is true to say that, in most cases, the really difficult part about being an induction tutor is the planning you have to undertake. There is a lot to do and it is best done early on. If you plan out the year well then you should be able to cope with even the most trying NQT.


There are several stages to the planning process, which are covered in this section. However, before we examine these, it is worth considering the range of options available. In their 1994 report on NQTs, Early and Kinder suggested a range of support models.
