Students’ abilities are most likely to be identified during lessons. The classroom is also the starting point for meeting students’ learning needs. However, it can be difficult to provide teaching that meets their diverse needs through a single curriculum, especially since provision for gifted and talented students is best integrated with standard lessons and not treated as just a ‘bolt-on’ feature.
