Dates

Results dates are published well in advance (see the Calendar). The main summer examination session results come out in August, with GCSE/Key Skills results usually the Thursday before the August Bank Holiday (the last Monday in August) and AS/A-level and AEA results the week before that. It is important that you are available for these two weeks in August, and that you have taken your summer holiday earlier. If you have sent your entries by EDI carrier, you will be able to download the results on the Wednesday, which enables you to process them, but they remain confidential until 6 am on Thursday. The results of exams sat in January come out in March, with EDI results usually one week ahead of paper copies.

Results days are the pressure points of the year, and you need to be prepared. Exactly how much pressure you will be under will depend in part on the quality of the results and particular problems with them from the candidates’ perspective, or from the administrative perspective, eg missing results.
