Examination Officers’ Association

Examinations Management has been produced in association with the Examination Officers’ Association (EOA).

The Examination Officers’ Association is an independent organisation whose role is to support and represent all those involved in the operation and administration of examinations in centres. The EOA is run by examination officers for examination officers, and has no union affiliation.

The EOA provides membership support and promotes services and activities that are helpful to all examination personnel across the UK and abroad. It links to other stakeholders, and has membership and public forums to debate issues related to the examination and education community as a whole.

It is currently developing a professional qualification for examination officers, in association with Edexcel and backed by the other awarding bodies. The aim is to provide career development for this important role.

The Association is also collaborating closely with the National Assessment Agency (NAA) on all aspects of the NAA’s Modernisation Programme, both by communicating the views of examination officers to the NAA and by providing expertise in areas such as good practice, publications and professional development.
