Coverage

The Extended School Survey gathers, analyses and compellingly presents each school’s current position on provision in the following extended school areas:

Provision for children & young people

• Childcare for under-fives or pre-school
• Crèche provision
• Early intervention and swift referral
• Before- or after-school clubs
• Study support and homework clubs
• Sport
• Arts
• ICT.

Provision for parents & other adults

• Skills for Life
• Family support: Health & social care
• Family support: Parenting
• Family learning
• Lifelong learning/Key Skills
• Sport
• Arts
• ICT.

Schools indicate their position on provision for each of the above by choosing one of the following options:

• Already in place
• Work in hand
• Being planned
• Would like advice/help
• Not currently a priority.

The Extended School Survey also enables schools to indicate what resources and expertise they have available, eg sizes of halls, meeting rooms and sport facilities. There are also free text areas to give details of facilities or expertise which may not be covered by the options listed, and to indicate the sustainability of what they are offering.
