IGCSE ICT still going strong
The UK Government recently announced that maintained schools will be able to offer IGCSE courses in all subjects from September 2010. This gives schools the opportunity to deliver a qualification that has been widely acknowledged for its rigour, and continues to be popular because it is assessed only through examination (rather than partly through coursework).
Reflecting the excellent reputation of the IGCSE, Pearson Publishing has seen strong sales in its range of student-friendly resources specifically designed to support the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) IGCSE ICT syllabus. The Student Handbook for ICT: IGCSE presents the theoretical course content in short, manageable topics with key points. Helpful, annotated diagrams are included throughout. The Practical Skills for ICT: IGCSE CD-ROM offers a wealth of activities to help students to prepare for the practical elements of the examination. New editions that cover the 2011 and 2012 CIE IGCSE ICT syllabi are now available.
