A wealth of ideas
These versatile publications help schools cover the potentially awkward topics of variation and biodiversity, classification, adaptation and feeding relationships in a convenient, well-structured fashion spanning the plant kingdom.
The varied, involving and interesting activities provide:
- ideas for curriculum use of school grounds and surrounding areas
- encouragement to pupils to take a real interest in their environment
- a chance for schools to contribute to local communities' Agenda 21 plans
- the materials to help gather valuable annual data on zoological diversity.
At the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, our Government (amongst many others) pledged to work for an Agenda for the 21st Century, to protect the world's environment. By the end of 1996 all local areas in the UK had been asked to draw up a plan for ensuring that their community is 'sustainable' – leaving future generations living in any area the same quality of life and choices that we enjoy now. The work on investigating and recording biodiversity in this pack can contribute to this aim.
