A series of six packs aimed specifically at the delivery of the six KS3 areas of study for History. Broken down into manageable self-contained units, they can be used to form the basis of a course, integrated by section into any scheme of work or used as a bank of activity ideas to be dipped into. Each pack contains 10 to 12 units.
Each unit offers:
- varied, attractive and interactive student materials
- detailed teacher’s notes providing activity outlines, curriculum references and assessment and extension ideas
- background information for use by both teacher and student.
The range of activities provided is designed to help cover the required Key Elements. For example:
- sequencing work to help develop a sense of chronology
- compiling and presenting reports of events from different standpoints to show how different interpretations of characters and events can arise
- using maps and other sources to instill the skills of historical enquiry
- varied written exercises to acquire and display the required vocabulary, factual knowledge and conceptual grasp.
Activities for one suggested option are developed alongside suggestions for how similar work could be attempted using different subject matter.

Pack 6 of this series covers issues such as the slave trade, and the battle for civil rights in the USA.
