GCSE Mathematics Homework

Stafford Burndred

Tier-by-tier

These packs provide 70-90 different homeworks each, aimed specifically at covering GCSE Mathematics. Each pack addresses a different tier and can be used as:

Care has been taken to ensure that the material included is appropriate for all examining groups and is thus suitable for any school. The exercises are presented to enable teachers to use a speed marking system – cutting time spent by 50% or more. Each homework covers a single A4 side with answer boxes in a column on the right. Once completed, the sheets make ideal revision material. The pack comes with a set of master answer sheets. These have the answers arranged in columns which are simple to match against each student's answers. Totalling is quick, as is recording marks and grades.

A full class homework can be collected at the start of a lesson and marked in about 20 minutes. This allows immediate identification of difficulties and feedback of information.

Individual and class reporting sheets are included allowing a comprehensive profile of each student to be built up. This can then be used to:

Despite the overlap of topics between the tiers, the exercises for each pack in the series are all different. This provides greater choice for schools and adds to the potential value of the material for use with KS3 students. For example, high attaining students could use Pack 2: Intermediate Tier (Levels 5–8) in Years 8 and 9 followed by Pack 3: Higher Tier (Levels 7+) in Years 10 and 11.

Although quite self-contained, the homework packs are set out to mirror the order in which topics are covered in the corresponding Revision Guides; easing the coordination of a revision programme.
