Gifted and Talented in Your School
Take a whole school approach
Gifted and Talented in Your School helps you improve the management of gifted and talented provision in school. It looks at how to:
- meet current Government requirements for gifted and talented provision
- manage staff deployment and student provision effectively in school
- set up a reliable system for identifying students and improving practice
- identify gifted and talented students in different phases and subjects
- offer stimulating teaching for gifted and talented students
- work with theories of intelligence and learning styles to personalise learning
- accommodate students’ social/emotional needs.
Gifted and Talented in Your School is part of the Gifted and Talented in series. It offers a wealth of guidance on whole school issues including:
- Recording why students were selected as ‘gifted and talented’
- Gathering evidence to prove students are ‘gifted and talented’
- Using the Institutional Quality Standards and the Classroom Quality Standards across the school
- Supporting departments in their gifted and talented provision, including providing INSET
- Developing an effective gifted and talented policy.
