Building on the success of the World Cup Kit 2006, we are pleased to launch a new version of this popular football kit, based around the Premiership.

The Premiership, which runs between August and May every year, is a real opportunity to introduce cross-curricular work. The Beautiful Game makes the most of the nine-month season and is an ideal way to introduce themed work into the curriculum across year groups. The regular fixtures and extensive media coverage can help to provide new starting points for the work.

Stimulus for health/PE

The Beautiful Game offers a great opportunity to stimulate discussion about sport, exercise and healthier living. Why not get all year groups involved in the activities?

Flexible bank of resources

The high profile of football – and the increasing popularity of women’s soccer – makes this an ideal time to focus on the Premiership. Both the sporting activities and the personalities involved can make a great basis for topic work. This imaginative, specially-devised and ready-to-use kit of materials can help channel the interest and enthusiasm generated by the participation of pupils’ favourite football teams into important work, right across the curriculum.

The Beautiful Game is an involving project for pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. This is a great chance to involve the whole of KS2. The resource can be used as a whole, in sections, or as a bank of materials to be dipped into.

The Beautiful Game includes:

This includes activities on a Premiership theme in all curriculum subjects and two interdenominational football assemblies.

An exciting selection

Activities are provided for the following subjects:

Versatile and easy to use

The Beautiful Game comes on a CD-ROM, so the colourful resources can be printed out or used onscreen. In many of the activities, digital files are provided that can be used by the pupils, making your life simpler and easier.

The support you want

The Beautiful Game provides detailed teacher’s notes, lesson plans, background notes, maps, display cards, worksheets, illustrations and score sheets (in print and often in convenient digital formats for use with computers), suggestions for homework activities which whole families can enjoy as the games are being played, and useful Web addresses. The resource carries a licence to copy, which allows each member of staff involved to have their own copy or photocopy the material for use throughout the school.
