Examinations Management
Principal author: Jonathan Green
A professional approach
The challenge faced by those in charge of examinations is becoming greater and greater. This invaluable CD-ROM-based resource is designed to provide essential guidance, support and practical assistance to everyone involved in the lengthy, complex processes.
A welcome aid to all exam officers!
Examinations Officers Association
Following the success of the three editions of the Examinations Officer Survival Kit, the resource has now been updated and expanded under a new title, Examinations Management. This has been produced in conjunction with the Examination Officers’ Association. EOA members are entitled to a discount of £40.
Even more information and support
Examinations Management offers additional information on:
- practical guidance for non-teaching examinations officers
- how to work with the senior management team (SMT) and other staff
- the National Qualifications Framework
- opportunities for professional development for examinations officers.
The resource is aimed in particular at new and recently-appointed examinations officers to help them establish themselves in their new post, ensure best practice and understand key concepts in running examinations. It also forms an ideal source of reference, even for the most experienced. The emphasis is on the practical: what you need to do, when you need to do it, and how you might or must do it.
Digital files
In addition to key pieces of information, there are practical hints and tips on each topic. The approach throughout is flexible and there are numerous tables, forms, standard letters and handouts. These are provided as supplementary digital files, each of which can be edited. They can be used to:
- communicate with external bodies
- prepare students
- inform parents/carers
- present results in appropriate formats
- report to the SMT and governors
- keep appropriate records.
Printable material
All the material has been included as PDF (portable document format) files, which can be used onscreen or printed out.
