Make the most of form time
Form tutors are uniquely placed within the school to provide guidance and support for students on important extra-curricular matters. They can also make a particularly useful contribution by working with students to develop positive attitudes to learning and school life in general.
To be effective in these roles, however, form tutors require appropriate training and managerial support. It is also very helpful to have suitable teaching materials prepared specifically for tutorial sessions. This exciting CD-ROM addresses all these requirements for successful tutorials in form groups.
Ideal for INSET
Supporting Form Tutors examines the role of the form tutor and provides a range of planning materials for school managers and curriculum coordinators. It has particular applications for in-service training of form tutors and trainers.
Forms, checklists and handouts are provided. The topics covered include:
- the theory behind form tutoring
- the role of the form tutor
- preparing a policy
- preparing for the role
- managing the team
- training form tutors
A wealth of activities for form tutors and PSHEE
