The introduction of the National Strategy for English at Key Stage 3 has placed an even greater emphasis on the teaching of grammar, spelling and punctuation in Years 7, 8 and 9. The Strategy intends to help raise standards by focusing more on the use of these skills within written English; not just as theoretical concepts learned in a dry, disjointed manner.
