Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation at KS3
Sandra Morton and Carol Kelsall
Meet key requirements
The introduction of the National Strategy for English at Key Stage 3 has placed an even greater emphasis on the teaching of grammar, spelling and punctuation in Years 7, 8 and 9. The Strategy intends to help raise standards by focusing more on the use of these skills within written English; not just as theoretical concepts learned in a dry, disjointed manner.
Balanced coverage
This publication aims to provide pupils with the knowledge and understanding to recognise and apply grammatical rules within their writing and comprehension of text. All the relevant parts of the KS3 programme of study are covered.
Improve grammatical skills
In addition, Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation at KS3 offers a complete grounding in formal sentence analysis, language patterns and structures, and paragraph construction. The pack explains the concepts, illustrates how they can be applied in practice and provides a wide selection of exercises set in appropriate contexts.
Note that this product is also available as part of KS3 English and Drama Network Resources and the Whole School Network Resources KS3.
