An effective learning approach

This handbook is designed to develop students’ knowledge and understanding of Physical Education at Key Stages 3 and 4. It identifies the various components of movement analysis and provides a framework for the identification and assessment of the student’s own sporting movements and activities. It also provides them with opportunities to break down their own sport-specific skills, tactics and strategies, record observations, and note key points for the development of their physical performances.

The A5 format means that the handbooks are portable and so are ideal for use both at home and at school. Forms and blank pitch layouts are included for students to complete as they work through the handbook, thus making it highly interactive.

The handbook will help to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. They will be able to reinforce and think about their learning. The first six chapters have a common structure and cover the following areas for each of the activities:

Activities at the end of each chapter help students to ensure that they have understood the concepts covered. A list of Web addresses is included at the back of the handbook to act as a starting point for research and for students to find out about the rules and regulations associated with their particular areas of interest.

Discounts on class sets

The books are designed for student use and for distribution through schools. Large discounts on class sets mean that they can be sold on to students at a cost well below the cover price.
