Ofsted and the use of ICT
Schools now face far more exacting inspections of their used of ICT. The Inspection Framework explicitly requires inspectors to consider aspects of ICT use throughout the school in terms of both management and teaching. In subject teaching, the requirements are clear; teachers need to show evidence that they are applying ICT across the curriculum.

About the author
Derek Mill is has been head of music at a large comprehensive school since 1982. He has also been Curriculum Coordinator for Expressive Arts. He has been an Advanced Skills Teacher since 1998, and leads courses relating to composition and ICT in Music.
