Using the Internet - Religious Education
Simon Hughes
Bring the world into your classroom
A whole school resource, this versatile publication can be used as a teacher-based resource as well as for work in the class or even at home. As more and more schools gain access to the Internet, teachers are becoming aware of the excellent resources which exist on the World Wide Web. However, finding the best sites and working out how to use them effectively is time-consuming and often frustrating.
Using the Internet – RE has been compiled to save teachers time and provide an imaginative and curriculum-based bank of ideas. The support material has been carefully written to take account of the differing circumstances in schools and colleges and the activities do not demand that pupils have access to the Web.
The pack is divided into a number of main sections, each of which includes:
- a general introduction explaining the section and its application
- ten to 20 Web addresses with a brief review of the content
- related lesson plans
- student worksheets
- teacher's notes and curriculum references.
The topics cover material required for KS3, GCSE and post-16 study and each topic offers an introduction for the teacher, plus a list of the most useful sites available with a description of their content. 35 worksheets are included to help students work through specific sites on the various topics.
Note that this product is also available as part of the KS3 RE Network Resourcesand the Cross-curricular ICT Toolkit.
