The Expressive Arts
Brian McGuire
Create an Expressive Arts Faculty
It is becoming increasingly popular to set up Arts faculties in schools, which encompass the areas of Drama, Dance, Music and Art and Design. This does not threaten the autonomy of the separate subjects – more that the collective strengths of the Arts are seen as an influential and vital part of the school curriculum.
Essential reading for all concerned
This pack will be of use to senior management, heads of Arts faculties and subjects, and teachers and trainee teachers of Drama, Music, Dance and Art and Design.
Step-by-step guidance
The pack offers step-by-step guidance on the creation of an Arts faculty, examining the pros and cons, the make-up of an Arts faculty, bringing the Arts together, staffing, timetabling and resources and the role of the coordinator.
