There is ever-increasing emphasis on developing the quality of educational provision. The focus of this drive for improvement is inevitably the classroom but setting in place the structures and policies to help ensure raised standards is a whole school issue.

This pack provides guidance and support materials to help schools and colleges manage the key issues effectively. It sets out to:

• help get staff moving
• provide study materials to raise awareness and understanding
• offer detailed guidance to improve practice
• include optional research ideas to ensure development is set in any school's unique context.

Managing Quality may form the basis for planning, implementing and evaluating a whole school policy or can be seen as a flexible resource to be dipped into. All the material benefits from a licence to copy and is presented as information sheets, handouts, forms, checklists for distribution to and use by school management team members, governors, class teachers, parents and others.
