Lesson Plans Set 3: Music offers a full set of lesson plans for class music lessons for Years 1 to 6. The emphasis is on providing practical solutions to the delivery of the programme of study. The resource makes up a complete course but can also be used in sections or as an invaluable bank of separate activities. For each year group, there are 36 lesson plans, making a total of 216.

Balanced coverage

The plans cover all the elements of the attainment targets (performing and composing, and listening and appraising) across Key Stages 1 and 2. The lessons provide opportunities for pupils to:

undertake a balanced programme of activities which build on previous work and take account of previous achievement
work individually, in groups and as a whole class
make appropriate use of ICT to create and record music
perform progressively more demanding pieces.

Different music genres and styles are offered which will allow pupils to learn from a broad repertoire.
