The emphasis is on providing practical solutions to the delivery of the programme of study. For each year group, there are 36 lesson plans, making a total of 216. This means that Lesson Plans Set 2: Design & Technology offers you activity ideas for every week of the year for each of Years 1 to 6.

Focused and practical

Lesson Plans Set 2: Design & Technology provides many opportunities for children to develop their design and technology capability. This is achieved through combining their designing and making skills with knowledge and understanding in order to design and make products. The resource ensures that the two interrelated core sections of the programme of study can be developed by pupils through a selection of design and make tasks. It offers activities which will enable pupils to:

take increasing responsibility for their work
develop their capability through a range of tasks
work independently and in teams
be involved in tasks of varying duration
evaluate their own work at each stage of its development.

The teacher is provided with lists of the tools, materials, skills and techniques that the children should have experienced by the end of Key Stage 2. A class record and assessment chart is also provided. The resource is completed by a set of explanatory notes and references to the National Curriculum.
